September Message from the Acting Executive Director
As we welcome September, I find myself reflecting on the changing seasons and all that has grown at Downtown Greens this summer—not just in our gardens, but in our community.

Summer has been filled with children learning, planting, harvesting, exploring nature, and discovering where their food comes from. Our gardens and greenspaces have continued to bring people together, providing opportunities to learn, connect, volunteer, and simply enjoy being outdoors.
September is a season of transition, but it is also a time to look ahead. As we begin planning for the months and year ahead, I am excited about the opportunities before us. We are continuing to grow our educational programs, strengthen community partnerships, care for the land entrusted to us, and create more ways for people of all ages to connect with nature.
I also hope you will join us for our Native Plant Sale on Saturday, September 26th! Fall is a wonderful time to add native plants to your garden, and every purchase supports Downtown Greens while helping create healthier habitats for the birds, butterflies, bees, and other wildlife that shares our community.
None of this happens without the support of our incredible community. Whether you have volunteered, attended a program, made a donation, purchased plants, shared our work with others, or simply stopped by to enjoy our greenspaces, you are an important part of Downtown Greens.
Thank you for continuing to believe in our mission of connecting people with nature through education and the conservation of greenspace. I look forward to all that this new season will bring and hope to see you at the Native Plant Sale or in the garden soon!
