we want you to get outside for giving tuesday!

Picture

Why? Because outside is where it's at! Outside is where we nurture nature! Outside is where we are conserving open green spaces for our community in perpetuity. Outside is where we teach the children to grow gardens! Outside is where we support our wildlife! Outside is where we teach people of all ages how to grow and thrive while supporting our ecosystem!

Outside is where the happiness is.

So this Giving Tuesday, November 28th, go outside and consider giving a donation to Downtown Greens so we can keep protecting a nurturing the outside!

If that's not enough, every donation of $25 or more will secure you a one-of-a-kind, Giving Tuesday exclusive "Protect Our Pollinators" bumper sticker designed by local artist @joellecathleenstudios Joelle Cathleen Studios. These bumper stickers are in limited supply and only available to donors on Giving Tuesday!

Want to give more? Every donation on Giving Tuesday of $1000 or more will be given a private one-on-one painting workshop with Joelle Cathleen herself!

So mark your calendars and keep your eyes on our social media for more information!

On Giving Tuesday, November 28th, use the button below to donate and secure your exclusive, one-of-a-kind bumper sticker!

It's official! Please welcome our new Executive Director and all round swell guy, Jim Schepmoes!

Jim, a native Virginian, has over 20 years of experience working at nonprofits dedicated to preservation and to helping disadvantaged populations. He has a bachelor’s degree from Virginia Commonwealth University and a master's degree from Kent State University. He and his wife, Rita, live on a small farm in King George County with Holly, their barky Beagle and numerous Wyandotte chickens.

Want to meet Jim for yourself? Join him at the Backyard Soirée! Outgoing Director Sarah Perry and members of the board and staff will be there too!

 our 56-acre land expansion project

This 56-acre parcel of land – which had been slated for industrial development – contains living wetlands and mature trees, as well as some of the last farmland in Fredericksburg. Thanks to donors like you, this land will be preserved in perpetuity under the nurturing care of Downtown Greens.
We are so close to completely paying off this amazing land completely so that we may put it under easement but still need your help!
