TAKE WHAT YOU NEED COMMUNITY SOLIDARITY PLOT

Built in response to the increased need during COVID-19,  the Take What You Need Community Solidarity Plot is planted with vegetables and herbs requested by our neighbors.

In response to the greater need brought by the pandemic, the Free Fridge & Pantry was established in our Upper Garden to serve our community members in need.

It is run and stocked by volunteers and community members just like you.

​Located on the corner of Dixon and Princess Anne Streets by the bus stop, the Free Fridge & Pantry is open 24/7.

Stop by at any time to drop off a donation or select items to take home.

FAQ about the free fridge & pantry

Where is the Free Fridge & Pantry located?  The FF&P is located in Downtown Fredericksburg on the corner of Princess Anne and Dixon Streets in our Upper Garden by the bus stop.

When is the Free Fridge & Pantry open?  The FF&P is open 24 hours a day. 7 days a week.

Is there anyone manning the Free Fridge & Pantry?  The FF&P is unmanned and self-serve.  If you have anything to report you may do so by calling 540-371-7315 or by emailing [email protected]

How do I donate food to the Free Fridge & Pantry?  Nothing could be easier! Just drop by the FF&P at your convenience, any time day or night to donate.

How do I donate funds to the Free Fridge & Pantry?  We accept donations for the FF&P though our donation page here.

What kinds of food can I donate?  All packaged, sealed, and labeled foods are accepted as well as fresh produce (no labels needed).  Please place all uncooked meat products in the FREEZER.  Sealed and labeled prepared meals, produce, dairy, eggs, and other perishables can be placed in the fridge.  All labeled and sealed non-perishables can be placed in the pantry.

How do I receive items from the Free Fridge & Pantry?  Just come by the FF&P any time day or night and select your items.  Please be aware that this resource is used by many community members so we ask that you limit your items to just what you need that day.  The FF&P is unmanned so you must come by and look to see what is available.
