PLEDGE: LAND EXPANSION

Downtown Greens is working to purchase and conserve a parcel of land that contains living wetlands and mature trees as well as the last farmland in Fredericksburg. As an extension of what Downtown Greens has been doing for over 25 years, this project will protect and nurture urban greenspace, teach the community about sustainable and organic growing techniques and provide accessible open space.

Your pledge will not only help us conserve this unique piece of land, but also expand our programming capabilities and increase the number of people in our community who can enjoy accessible green space. Please fill out the pledge form below and make a tax-deductible investment in this exciting and ambitious community project!

Community Beekeeping Club

The Community Beekeeping Club is an exciting club that covers all aspects of beekeeping with a communal hive here at Downtown Greens.  From the novice to the seasoned beekeeper, all are welcome to come, learn and study this most valuable pollinator, the Bee!  Join us and see what fascinating things the bees are up to on any given day!

Contact us to get email reminders about meeting days. We have several veils, gloves and shirts available for public use, please contact us if you have further questions about what to wear or bring.  You can also find us on Facebook in our Bee Enthusiasts group. See you at the hive!

Free Farm Stand

Each week from April through October, we distribute fresh produce harvested from our Youth Farm Program garden, along with food donated by other local growers and food pantries, free of charge. Please join us in the Upper Garden on Thursdays at 6:30pm. Food is given on a first come, first served basis.

Robin was born in Richmond, grew up in Northern VA, and has lived in Fredericksburg for almost 10 years. She worked with the Federal Government in Administration for 18 years, served 8 years of active duty in the Air Force, and has spent the rest of her career working with various agencies. She loves working behind the scenes to make sure an office runs seamlessly. She's excited to learn more about the garden and all of the things DTG does for the community.
