Staff & Board of Directors OLD

Sarah Perry, Executive Director

SarahperrySarah Perry was born and raised on farmland near Tappahannock, Virginia. She attended the University of Mary Washington, where she majored in Studio Art, concentrating in Sculpture. During her first year of college, she began volunteering at Downtown Greens. After college she moved to France and got practical experience in biodynamic gardening practices, water saving techniques and composting through woofing. She spent 6 years overseas, and began performing in, co-directing, and managing a nouveau-clown show as well as performing on stage with other theater troupes. Throughout the years she continued to visit Downtown Greens and volunteer whenever she came home to visit family. Just when she was considering moving back to the states the directorship position at Downtown Greens opened, and she has been serving in that position since July of 2013. In November of 2014 she co-founded Good Turn Earth Company, with the mission to rescue food waste from landfills and turn it into a premium organic soil conditioner. She has found her home in the outdoor oasis of Downtown Greens.

Jason Gallant

Jason GallantJason Gallant, Contractor/Owner of Rappahannock Restoration, grew up in and around Fredericksburg. Today he lives on a small scale farm in nearby King George with his wife and children, turkeys, goats and peacock. Growing up, Jason spent hours outdoors doing projects and enjoying nature with his Papa John. Being part of Downtown Greens and the Darbytown community is a natural way to pass this treasured experience on to others.
